Belcaro Park

Belcaro Park is a small enclave of ranch style and two-story homes on larger lots. Known as a quiet, in-town neighborhood Belcaro is stately while unpretentious.

The historic Phipps House is at 3400 Belcaro Drive and was built by Lawrence C. Phipps, treasurer of Carnegie Steel and U.S. Senator. Charles A. Platt and sons designed the red brick Georgian mansion, and Phipps called it “Belcaro” (Italian for “beautiful dear one”). The mansion was donated to the University of Denver in 1964 and served for many years as a museum and conference center. Hundreds of beautiful weddings were held at Phipps Mansion and the Phipps Tennis House.

In 2011 the University sold “Phipps Mansion” to private buyers who are making the grand historic house into a home.  This sale reinforced the desirability of the Belcaro neighborhood.

Belcaro is just east of Bonnie Brae and Washington Park and offers central Denver living with easy access to Cherry Creek North  and I-25.
