Denver Farmers’ Markets Back in Season
There are a lot of terrific reasons to be in the Mile High City for the summer, but our selection of Farmers’ Markets gives all Denver residents the chance to make any day feel a little bit fresher.
Despite the obvious benefits of the open-air markets (buying local is an easy way to indulge our inner tree-hugger,) shopping at the Farmers’ Market is a great way to enjoy our Colorado sunshine while scoring some of the freshest, tastiest, and most unique Denver-inspired food creations and produce around.
Use your negotiating skills and the price is usually right; many farmers offer steeply discounted produce (though not always the best quality) as the market draws to a close.
Here are a few fun markets where you can try out the buy-local trend:
Saturdays:
- Cherry Creek Fresh Market runs from May 5- Oct 27 from 8am- 1pm at the intersection of University Blvd and 1st Ave (in the parking lot for Bed Bath & Beyond). Also open on Wednesdays from Jun 20 – Sep 26 from 9am – 1pm.
- Highland United Neighbors Farmers’ Market is open Jun 2 – Oct 13 from 9am – 1pm in the Highlands neighborhood, on Boulder Street between 15th and 16th Streets.
Sundays:
- Stapleton Farmers’ Market runs Jun 17 – Oct 14 from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm on the Founders Green next to the intersection of 29th Ave and Quebec St.
- Old South Pearl Street Farmers’ Market is open May 20 – Nov 4 from 9 am – 1pm and expands a few blocks north and south from the intersection of Florida Ave and South Pearl Street. (There’s Hannah and her mom from Four Sisters Farm in the photo at the Pearl Street Market!)
- City Park Esplanade Fresh Market runs May 13 – Oct 27 from 9 am – 1 pm at the intersection of Colfax Ave and City Park Esplanade (in front of East High School).
