We Are Denver – Kentwood Commercial
I was a lot like most of us post-graduation. I spent some time in the non-profit sector, working as a programs assistant & development coordinator, and as an event planner immediately after college. And while I enjoyed the occasional neighbor’s Sunday open house, Denver’s annual Parade of Homes events, and dog-earing décor magazines more than most, it did not occur to me that my calling was Real Estate until I decided to see a career consultant. As soon as my Meyers-Briggs results pointed in this direction, it all seemed so clear! My personality and skill set so perfectly aligned with my ability to interpret client’s needs and wants and confidently navigate people through the home-buying process.
Since 2005, I have been helping Denver residents buy and sell homes turning my passion for homes and design into a successful career. I am so happy to do what I love for a living, and working hard has never been so enjoyable! Over the past 12 years, I have worked to grow into a known figure and authority in my field. The highlight of my career up to this point was when I was asked to be the face for the new Kentwood Real Estate television commercial.
It was such an honor to contribute to my company’s growth in such a real and huge way! I was very excited to enter the glamorous life of television, but little did I know, it is way more sweat and tears than glamour. I was so eager to put my best foot forward that I made an appointment to get my hair blown out for my small-screen debut – who wouldn’t? When we got to the shoot’s outdoor location, the wind was so strong I had to put my expertly-styled hair into a ponytail to keep it out of my face. We joked that it was the most expensive ponytail. Geese were all around City Park and we had to consistently pause for the geese to get out of the shot, which meant I did the same takes over, and over, and over. It’s hard to stay positive and peppy on the 5th take, let alone the 20th.
I learned a lot in this process; about show-biz, hairdos & weather, working with animals and other uncontrollable elements all while speaking with your chin up. Throughout my brush with fame, I learned the importance of adjusting your expectations to reflect the moment.
All lessons learned, I am so proud to debut my Kentwood Real Estate commercial. Please enjoy! I hope you see it as a true testament to doing what you love, and loving what you do. Geese, wind, hairdos, and all.
