RTDs G Line is Finally Here…. Almost!
The Long Anticipated G-Line is Just About Done
So Why All The Hype?
More than 2 years past its scheduled opening date, RTD’s G-Line will finally start carrying passengers this Friday. The line between Wheat Ridge and Downtown Denver will also makes stops in Old Towne Arvada (hello, Balefire Goods!).
Despite the long and seemingly irksome wait for this line to open, I’m getting pretty excited to hop on the train and stop in Old Towne. While this has been a constant strain of stress for RTD and it’s constituents, the wait is finally over….so let’s celebrate! Here’s what you need to know….
What to Know
- Plenty of people will use this line: the line was specifically designed to give easy access to the houses and neighborhoods like Globeville, Downtown Denver, Wheat Ridge, and Arvada.
- Bus routes will change in the coming months, but this isn’t in the works as of now.
- 13 transit-related projects are planned or have been built on the G Line: hello, park and rides!
- Globeville and Sunnyside have access to this station
- Between 6AM and 6:30PM, the train comes every 15 minutes; otherwise, every 30
- They are expecting 9,000 boarders per day
It’s Time to Celebrate
The city of Arvada is throwing a celebration in honor of this Friday’s opening (the part is on Saturday, April 27th). There will be tons of people, freebees, live music, and kid friendly activities. Check out which businesses are participating and what you can get here!
Hint: there’s so much food and drink, retail, and food and wellness to explore…. I’m so excited! You can also view the live music schedule here.
