Rye Society- Modern Jewish Deli to Open in RiNo Spring 2018
Welcome to Rye Society
Per Se and Tabla’s Jerrod Rosen to open traditional Jewish Deli with contemporary twist in RiNo
Jerrod Rosen has been immersed in Jewish delis his entire life. His father’s parents ran Rosen’s Grocery, and his great-grandmother ran Rosen’s Kosher Deli, both in Denver. His mother’s father owned the Oasis Drive In at East Colfax Avenue and Williams Street. Denver natives-do you remember those places?!
Originally from Colorado, Rosen spent time in New York training under Thomas Keller at Per Se, and Danny Meyer at Tabla. He also has a culinary and management degree from the French Culinary Institute. And he helped open Colt & Gray in Denver.
For the new restaurant, Rosen is teaming up with Denver chef consultant Ryan Leinonen, whose projects include The Kitchen in Boulder, Root Down, Colt & Gray, and Trillium. The two are collaborating on a menu rooted in Rosen’s family recipes. They promise to bring “the best of traditional Jewish comfort food” to Denver.
Located in the former Hutch & Spoon space at 3090 Larimer Street, Rye Society will be serving brunch on the weekends! As well as breakfast and lunch through out the week. Rye bread will be baked in–house daily, and pastrami will be flown in from the same source as New York’s Carnegie Deli. Condiments, butters, cream cheese, and soups such as matzo ball, are all made fresh. Salads and grain bowls will be prepared to-order. Here you will find incredible breakfast sandwiches, egg bowls, and a house made granola and oatmeal bar, with a variety of fresh fruits, nuts and honeys; as well as locally-roasted coffee and espresso-based drinks. Lunch options include homemade sandwich and salad options to eat in or take out, as well as an extensive salad bar.
Rye Society will host local tasting events in the lead-up to its grand opening, coming early 2018. More information will be posted on Rye Society’s website and social media sites as it becomes available.
