Springtime in Denver Real Estate
Home sellers often ask, “when is Denver’s busiest real estate season?” “When should we put our house on the market?
Counter-intuitive as it may sound, we have very few months of downtime. A broker in Minneapolis told me this week that their market has effectively been shut down for weeks because of the sub freezing winter there.
Perhaps it’s our frequent sunny days during a Denver winter, but we don’t generally experience a slow down like that. January begins to pick up by the second or third week. We’re building a head of steam by February, and March through May are historically the busiest months of the year for Denver real estate sales.
June and July remain steady, and every year we seem to have a noticeable slow down in August. September and October pick up again, and November/December are quiet.
When is a good time to put your house on the market? Most any time, but early springtime is the best. Buyers are waiting hopefully for more inventory to choose from. So take advantage of the market upswing and the perfect time of year. Make the move!
