Whether its a low key, hole in the wall joint on Federal or new and trendy, with an adventurous menu and well thought out interior, everyone loves a great taco. From the east side to the west side, Denver has plenty of options. Here are our top favorites:
Adelita’s– this Platt Park family owned restaurant not only serves brunch, lunch, and dinner, but is open seven days a week and serves late night until 12:00 AM. Taco Tuesday is the best day to grab tacos, but they serve a diverse menu and have great gluten-free  and vegetarian options as well.

Dos Santos– a Mexican influenced taqueria, this place has it all including a great patio in prime people watching location, East 17th Avenue in Uptown. We love the esquites (Mexican street corn), vegetarian tacos, and spicy margaritas. Come early to grab happy hour and a spot on the patio, as if fills up fast.

Las Margs Tavern- if you ‘re looking for an uncomplicated and traditional menu in the heart of Denver, Las Margs is your g0-to. Lots of veggie options and your can’t go wrong with their carnitas.

LOLA– if you love seafood AND Mexican, this is your place. You can even get raw oysters on the half shell, but Monday all day happy hour with $2.50 tacos is where its at.

Los Chingones– we just love anything Troy Guard brings to the table (read our blog post about his newest restaurant, FNG, here) and Los Chingones is no exception to the rule- its so good, they recently opened two new locations. You really can’t go wrong with any of the tacos and we recommend adding a farm fresh egg to anything or trying out some of the seven house made salsas. The large deck with views of Downtown make for a great night any night of the summer.

Mexico City– hidden in LoDo and “Home To The Fried Taco”, Mexico City is such a great place to grab food before an afternoon Rockie’s game. The fried tacos come in a variety of options, like steak, chicken, and ground beef. Just make sure to come early as they close at 4:30 during the week.

Tacos Tequila Whiskey– you may hear locals call this place Pinche, as it recently changed its name, but its still the same great restaurant with two prime locations – one off Colfax and one in the Highlands, both have shaded patios. The lengua taco, house-made salsa trio, and churros are all must tries.

Tacos Y Salsas– this Denver staple with eleven (yes, eleven!) locations serves their tacos Al Pastor style, offering an authentic Mexican dining experience.

Torchy’s Tacos- The Austin, TX infiltration into Denver culture wouldn’t have been complete without a Torchy’s Tacos. Must haves from the menu are: the Trailer Park with fried chicken, the melt in your mouth Queso, and their frozen flavored margs, but let’s not forget about breakfast tacos! Now with FOUR locations in the Denver metro area, there is no excuse not to go.
